Post Basic Diploma in Midwifery (1-Year Program)
Introduction
This is a one-year specialization course for female nurses after completion of three years of general nursing. Midwives are one of the most important mid-level workers in the health delivery system of our country. After completion of training, she must be able to give supervision, care and advice to the women during pregnancy, labor and to conduct, deliveries on her own responsibility and to give care for the newborn.
Program Objective
By the end of this program, a nurse midwife will be able to give care and advice to pregnant women and newborn babies in hospitals as well as community services.
Scope of Practice
After completing the course, students will be able to work in a hospital in the critical-care area.
Diploma Awarding Authority
The Diploma will be awarded by the Sindh Nursing Examination Board
