We are proud to congratulate Dr. Saima Ali on successfully completing her PhD in Health Professions Education Leadership — a remarkable milestone that reflects both academic rigor and deep commitment to transforming healthcare communication in Pakistan.

Her research, titled:

“Bridging Differences, Building Connections: Evaluating, Enhancing, and Exploring Patient-Centered Communication Skills of Emergency Medicine Physicians and Nurses in Pakistan’s Diverse Healthcare Landscape,” offers critical insight into how emergency care teams communicate in complex, high-pressure environments — and how those interactions can be improved to better serve patients across cultural, linguistic, and social differences.

With healthcare settings becoming increasingly diverse, her work addresses a pressing need for more empathetic, inclusive, and patient-centered communication skills. By exploring both the challenges and the potential of current communication practices, her research paves the way for enhanced training, greater trust between patients and providers, and ultimately, improved health outcomes.

“Effective communication isn’t just a skill — it’s a bridge to better care. I hope this research inspires change at both the policy and practice level,” shares Dr. Saima Ali.

This achievement reflects not only personal academic excellence but also contributes meaningfully to IHHN’s shared mission: advancing healthcare through research, education, and compassion.

We celebrate this success and look forward to the positive impact her work will continue to have on healthcare teams and the patients they serve.
