Diploma in Public Health (1-Year Program)
Introduction
Pakistan faces healthcare challenges in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) as pledged globally in 2019. UHC aims to provide essential health services without financial hardship, including health promotion, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care. Effective primary care is crucial, but limited resources and a small health budget highlight the need to strengthen community and primary healthcare.
The Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) is developing a sustainable primary care model, integrating clinicians, allied health professionals, and public health experts. Through the IHHN College of Family Medicine and Public Health, practitioners collaborate to enhance community well-being by providing comprehensive care and tracking health outcomes. IHHN also offers a one-year diploma to develop public health expertise among healthcare professionals.
Vision
The Diploma aims to build capacity among primary care practitioners and foster leadership to deliver community-oriented primary care, integrating medicine, allied health, and public health specialties to strengthen primary care services.
