ICONM Hosts Health Awareness Program at Karachi Public School

Indus College of Nursing organized an impactful Community Health Awareness Program on April 15th, 2025, led by Semester VIII and Semester II students at Karachi Public School, Safavi Campus.

The program focused on a range of important health and wellness topics, including:

  • The dangers of vaping
  • Stress management
  • Personal hygiene
  • Understanding good touch vs. bad touch
  • Emergency and trauma response
  • Social media addiction
  • Physical health and fitness
  • The importance of nutrition

Our students utilized interactive methods such as role plays and educational games to engage the audience, which led to enthusiastic participation and a positive response from the school students. Additionally, Semester II students set up informative nutrition stalls to promote healthy eating habits.

The Associate Dean of Indus University of Health Sciences, Dr. Ghina Shami (Chief Guest), expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the commendable efforts put forth by the students, highlighting their dedication to community engagement and health promotion. She acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in shaping the future of healthcare and instilling a sense of social responsibility among nursing students.
