From Students to Practitioners: Indus Hospital Honors First Clinical Pharmacy Skills Graduates

Karachi, Pakistan – The Department of Pharmacy Services at Indus Hospital and Health Network recently celebrated the successful completion of its six-month course on Excelling in Clinical Pharmacy Skills, affiliated with Indus University of Health Sciences and endorsed by the Pharmacy Council of Sindh. The certificate distribution ceremony was held at the main campus of Indus Hospital and Health Network, marking a significant milestone for the first batch of students.

The event commenced with welcoming remarks by Dr. Aslam Shah, Chief of Pharmacy Services at Indus Hospital & Health Network. He provided a brief overview of the critical role of clinical pharmacists in healthcare, emphasizing their importance in optimizing patient care and medication management.

Mr. Muhammad Hamid, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases and the Course Director, then introduced the course details, highlighting the curriculum’s focus on enhancing clinical pharmacy competencies.

Dr. Zafar Zaidi, Dean of Indus University of Health Sciences, delivered the keynote address, underscoring the importance of such training programs in advancing the field of pharmacy in Pakistan. He acknowledged the dedication of the students and the support from the faculty, reinforcing the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare settings.

Certificates were awarded to the passing students, recognizing their hard work and commitment to excellence in clinical pharmacy. The ceremony concluded with thank-you notes from Dr. Arif Ali Arain, RPh, Head of Pharmacy Services – Karachi, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their contributions and support.
